To all those self-righteous people against this idea, who for some reason think they are better because they PUG or play with H+H as-is, please explain to me exactly how adding PvE skills to a Heroes repetoire is a negative for you?
Those for this idea have clearly and concisely given perfectly good reasons for wanting it, and explained how they are disadvantaged by not having it, yet no arguement against it is based on anything other than, "use real people", which we have given multiple reasons why that is not an option we can/will take.
As far as I can see, adding PvE skills to heroes will have absolutely no impact on you or how you play this game, so why exactly do you care?
Adding PvE skills to Heroes is not going to make GW a solo RPG, thats a preposterous notion. Its not going to cause any more people change suddenly from playing with PUGs to playing with Heroes + Hench only. Those happy to PUG will continue to PUG because thats what they like, and those who use heroes with a small group of friends will continue to do so, the ONLY difference is that the latter group will no longer be disadvantaged for their choice of play style!
Its sad to see such elitism poison Guild Wars simply because your situation does not disadvantage you as it does others.
Nothing worse than doing a Dungeon or DoA run and one of the kids needs my attention. Then having to leave a full party of players minus a Monk for 5-25 min at a time.
So I rarely play GW with more than one other person. I would love to see Heroes use PvE only skills.
never... bad enough they get everything unlocked on your account and not on your character. one PvP edition and you have it all already. So no thank you.

Because for people who cant dedicate a lot of time to the game its a horrible feature...
Not everyone can do everything with 1 char let alone multiple.
I have absolutely no problem with the max 3 PvE skills per real player in a team remaining. And that if you want more than 3 PvE skills in the team - you team up with other players, not playing the H/H-way.
But! Those 3 PvE skills, should be able to be on a hero's skill-bar, not mine.
The fact that I have to put them on my bar, puts me into a disadvantage due to the class I have chosen to play vs. other players who've chosen a different class.
When I play my ranger, my paragon, my dervish etc. packing 'light bringers gaze' in the end part of NF is natural.
But when I play my monk?
Why should I not be able to stick lightbringers gaze on a hero, rather than my own. Someone that will be having foes in their target and not other party members, like say a paragon, or a ranger, or Koss.
(And no I'm not Tahlkora, I don't see the point in plinking away with my wand when I have partymembers in the form of heroes set up to do damage. When monking I have other priorities than dealing damage to margonites.)
As it is now, players who plays support characters + a H/H team are at a disadvantage at the end of nightfall, because they can not slap those hurts the margonites real bad PvE skills on the agressive party members bar rather than their own.
The same goes, but perhaps not to the same degree for melee professions. Why should they not be able to equip their monk hero with 'seed of life', their mesmer hero with 'cry of pain' and bring a signet of capture on their own bar. - As long as they keep within the 3 PvE skills per human player.

I'm for a bit modified suggestion. Make the limit on 3 PvE skills per player+his heroes. So if you put 1 PvE skill on your hero you only have 2 of them left for you. But I guess even this could be abused in a few ways.

/Signed for this
This is similar to my own idea, but it's even better.
This basically lets us use Heroes with PVE Skills but with a limit, in order to use more skills we have to play with other players, the more human players = the more PVE skills allowed on heroes.
So we get Heroes using PVE Skills while still being encouraged to play with other players, Win-Win i say.
It can't be worse than what we got right now, right?
forgot if i've posted hwere once or, not, too lazy too look short back *g*, but

heores not using pve only skills is one reason, why casual players will be ever in disadvantage, cause of unbalanced dungeons that are nearly unmakeable with H/H, without several full party wipes resulting a a whole party -60%
heroes henchs are even too dumb for carrying any stuff, theres no order for them like "take this item" and "drop it"
the limit of 3 pve skills only should also be improved to 5 imo to balanced GW:En more for casual players which play mostly only H/H ever, and 7 Hero parties should be makeable, there is no need anymore for stupid henchmen, since heroes exist, why do we have now 20 heroes, when only 3 are useable -.-.
it should be the players choice, if he wants to play complete with other players, or to solo play ... group play has so or so never existed in GW, unless missions or so have forced players to play together, because stuff was simple to hard for henchs or unmakeable, because something existed in the mission, what more than 1 player must do in the same time, what stupid henchs or heroes naturally couldn't do ...
ingame exists NO community, everyone playes when he/she can selfishly with heroes only, because it gets simple quicker and you can let you time, you don't have to wait on others, when they suddenly went afk, nobody leaves suddenly ...
when Anet really wants to make a MMO, that relys on group play, something like henchs/heroes would never have existed, but that would be the biggest kick in the ass for all casual players, when they have to waste time for group finding
thats why i say: enable 7 heroes parties, make out of all old henchmen heroes, those players which want to play the missions with players, will automatically search pve guilds and play the missions then with guild mates, instead with random players ... thats my opinion about this
when the game becomes then too easy, that even total noobs can make GW:En elite dungeons without 1 single full party wipe or even without any die of any char, Anet can still make it again a bit harder
/signed I am so tired of being told how Anet wants me to play the game. They got their money, let me play the game to the best of my ability with my heros and let me have as many of them as I want. Why cripple someone who wants to play with one or two real people and heros. Why do we need insentive to PUG? What is so good about a Pug? So you Pug with a group, you do 3 missions, and then you never hear from them.
Wrong.
GW is designed equally around solo, h+h and party.
One of the few MMO's that is designed that way.
"PvE only skills" are really not needed on the Heroes.
I never had any disadvantage because my heroes didn't have those skills.
That includes elite areas.
Some of the keys when it comes to heroes skills, is to observe how and when they use them.
How much does the cost of using a skill affect the complete fight?
If the hero gets low on energy/health to fast, you might want to adjust something.
Things that work for others may not work for you, since you might have different skills, runes, insignias and weapons.
So it requires a little bit of work to get everything adjusted.
Plus, you got the blessings on your heroes as well, that part already helps a lot.
It's not about being casual or hardcore, more about that you need to observe the outcome of fights.
If you find something to hard, you can always find clues on the gw wiki and pvx wiki.
If "PvE only skills" are added or not?
It doesn't bother me if or not, just wanted to point out that it isn't needed as much as some posters think.

GW is one of the few MMO's that caters to solo-play or playing with fewer then 8 people in a group, but it is far from equal.
GW's ability to let people play in groups of a size of the players choosing is one of their greatest strengths and stands them out from the crowd of MMOs, BUT for the simple fact that by choosing to do so, those players get less of an experience because their party cannot wield all the skills that are available, make it less of a game, and less equal.
I dont think anyone here said it was needed, but it is wanted, as all the /signed's in here testifies.
What our arguement is, is that we are being penalised for playing the game that we paid for, in a manner which the game itself supports, and we are asking that we be given as much freedom as those who choose to play in groups of 8 human players.
